Makin' 'Music For Money (FROM A1A) was always one of my favorite JB lesser-known songs. Though he didn't write it, it was a perfect example of his ethos. Ironic in that he made his music and built an empire in the process.

The Songs you don’t know my heart is a great series of songs. Loved the rendition of 12 volt man. The lyrics and poetry of the song were emphasized with the acoustic version.

I really liked his music back in the late 70s.

I met Harvey Brooks when he was bass player in The Rhinestones. They played the Blackhawk outside Toronto Ont. in 1975. At the time, the band consisted of the late Kal David, Bob Leinbach, Eric Parker, Arti Funaro & Harvey. They packed the house every night. I was the night manager. My asst mgr & I both got their album & I still have it in my vinyl collection. Thanks for all the great music, from your earliest recordings to Elegant Geezer. It was a pleasure to see this interview. I hope Harvey & family are safe. Living in Israel these days must have many challenges. May peace find its way. Shalom.

Great job. I liked Mr. LeVell’s comments about removing emotions and listening to the numbers & emotions making bad business decisions. Wise words. He also talked about the issue of Mr. Trump being called a racist when there is no evidence in his history of actually being racist. The media has sold a narrative. The uninformed believe it. There is a narrative now being sold about Kamala Harris. I’m afraid the uninformed voter will believe that also.

When they tell me who not to vote for, I know instantly I better go see why. I never liked the Obama's so it was always easy to know I want to go right since they are on the left. I told a few relatives that when I saw them redo the little Mermaid Beyonce country cover, not the music just the cover, and Oprah's Color Purple musical...I knew right then Michelle was coming at some point and I was being groomed to accept it. I think our current woes is 100% staged by them. They both are political Jussie's. They want us to hate white people and blame them for every little thing. Will even make non white people be white just to make sure we know we are susposed to feel that way. They did the same on the debates by keeping the camera on Joe. If you look again will see, they kept the camera on him longer than usual. It was like they wanted to be certain you saw it and it would stir up emotions.....to the point of hoping for a replacement who will magically be Michelle. I really do think these 2 are so evil they would do all this just to make sure she skips over vetting. To the point of creating this whole situation to make voters go beg his wife to come. Keep them so sad they wont notice she skipped traditional way to enter the race.....I believe ❤✌🏿

He also routinely directs me to Natalie Goldberg's books when I am facing a writing drought or just feeling generally dismal about my work. (FYI: His education has actually been both robust and Southern. He is a Pushcart nominee, and we are both graduates of the MFA writing program at Queens University in Charlotte.) His instincts and insights about literature are always sharp and thought-provoking. He is probably Natalie Goldberg's biggest fan. I enjoyed this interview and need that new book, so many thanks.
